So my life has been very crazy lately! On October 14, 2010 I proposed to the love my life and since then there has been so much happening. We managed to plan our entire wedding in one month, with of course much help from her mom. I know it sounds crazy but were getting married on December 18, 2010. I have known Marie for 11 years now and always had a crush on her but it wasn’t until 11 months ago that I started making that clear. I know, I know… What was I waiting for? I beat myself up for it every day. Anyways… The point is, were engaged now and were so excited to be getting married in a couple weeks.

Just wanted to share our engagement stories from the wedding site:

The Brides side:

I was in my classroom at the end of the day and had been instant messaging back and forth with Jonathan about some big news he was waiting to tell me. I couldn’t get it out of him. About ten minutes went by and I heard a knock at my classroom door. As soon as that happened I knew it was him and that he was proposing (sorry Jon). I opened the door, and he immediately got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I think I clapped and laughed and said yes!!!

The Grooms side:

First off the research and education process of buying a diamond and having a ring made was much longer than I anticipated, but well worth it! It was kind of exciting looking around for something that would be on her finger for the rest of our lives. We both wanted to get married before the New Year so my margin for a proposal kept getting shorter and shorter and her anticipation kept building and building. At this point she was expecting something to happen very soon because we were already starting to plan for the wedding. It came down to just being spontaneous yet still making it special. I had planned to take a day off work and do it the following week but when the jewelry shop called me on Oct 14th to say the ring was ready, I couldn’t wait! I left work, apologized to my boss, got the ring and went right to her school. It was after-hours so I knew she would be at her desk studying. My plan was to just go in and try to surprise her in the classroom. I starting instant messaging her to make sure she stayed in the room. Right when I got to the school I told her I had to tell her something and thinking in my mind the response would be to kick open the door and ask her to marry me. But reality sunk in and I had to go through security check and her door ended up being locked so I had to knock! lol She opened the door and said I knew it was you and that is where I proceeded to get on one knee. I think my words were, “I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?” It felt so natural saying it and her response was so cute! (It was “yes” btw) We proceeded to stumble around hugging and kissing in disbelief of what just happened. Looking back on it I wouldn’t change a thing. Circumstances and plans always change but what we have is real and my love for her will never change!
