Never would have guessed it but this was actually a really busy day at the beach. I just love how the skies and bodies of water always remain clean and empty. I think that’s why I am always drawn toward taking pictures of them. Our land down here is quite cluttered so opportunities like this don’t come very often. Also there is something nice about square cropped images.

I was driving home from work the other day and had to stop and get a shot of this. This shot was taken with a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8. For a telephoto, this is one of my favorites. For some reason the Florida Everglades always reminds me of an African safari.

I love making boring things in life look good. You can never go wrong with negative space. In this shot I made most of my edits in Lightroom 3 and then put some texture to it in Photoshop.

Still playing around with this film/bokeh look on all my photos. It’s my little obsession for the time being. Here was a shot taken right from the Kodak building in Hollywood, CA. It definitely was not as close as I thought it would be and security blocked off the top floor. Plus I didn’t have the telephoto handy, so I had to get somewhat creative with it. I know its kind of different but I like it for some reason.

California Honeymoon

I am doing this all on the fly but I will be sure to give you more pictures and more details about the wedding and our trip. Right now were wrapping up our trip to California and should be heading back home to catch the red eye tomorrow. On the way over here, Virgin Airlines hooked us up with first class because they found out we were going on our honeymoon. It was so amazing! Hopefully the same will happen for the way back. We had a nice long relaxing two weeks out here and its been amazing! Starting to have mixed feelings about coming home. Well… Just thought I would share a beautiful west coast sunset for you in the mean time.

Scootering Through Sugar Kane Fields

I hit it off pretty well with this guy at the Batey. I think he was fascinated with my fancy camera just as much as I was into his scooter. He requested that I take several pictures of him and in return he let me ride this snazy scooter. It took me a couple tries to get it going but before I knew it, I was flying through the sugar kane fields. I must say… I almost died a few times but it was really fun. Little did my friend know he would become famous from the 3 people that read my blog. Hope you enjoy the photo and if you look closely that same donkey is in the background.
